Now that it is officially springtime plenty of people will be wanting to get outside and enjoy the mild change in weather we are about to see here in Brandon, FL. The rest of the week is forecast to be in the high eighty’s and low ninety’s, things are looking pleasant. With this kind of weather in tow, one of the ways that dental implant providers Drs. Richard and Brent Assing like to enjoy this wonderful season is by having a good meal with their friends and family.
That being said, we think the meal should encompass spring by being fresh, and in our opinions, nothing screams fresh more than good seafood. On top of this, seafood is great for your oral health because it’s chock full of omega-3 fatty acids which have amazing anti-inflammatory qualities. Bearing all this in mind, we have decided to take a momentary break from our normally dental themes articles and tell you a little about our favorite place to get some amazing seafood right here in town.
Let’s take a closer look at Shells.
One thing we love doing here in the office if finding family owned and operated businesses and supporting them with our patronage. The reason for this is because more times than not the products you receive from family owned businesses are made with better quality and more pride than the ones you will receive from large chains. This is especially true when it comes to food. Shells is a perfect example of this theory.
“The history of Shells began in 1985 when my father, a Swiss Gourmet Chef, saw the need for a seafood restaurant that focused primarily on quality, service, and value instead of a fancy atmosphere and high prices. Our detailed attention to top quality product, attentive service, and competitive pricing led to the restaurant being voted runner-up for the 1989 Small Business of the Year Award and winning the vote for the #1 seafood restaurant in Tampa 15 years in a row. 30 years later our mission is still to serve only the finest quality ingredients prepared by experts in a fun, casual atmosphere.” – shellsseafood.com
If that doesn’t sound like the epitome of pride and quality, we don’t know what does.
In case you have never been to Shells before, we have taken the liberty of listing a few of our favorite selections from their menu. Hopefully, if you visit Shells and find yourself having difficulty deciding on what to get these suggestions might help.
Half pound of shrimp, simply seasoned, served hot or cold.
A pound of Prince Edward Island mussels sautéed with tomatoes and onions in a light red seafood broth.
A skewer of grilled shrimp paired with succulent sea scallops.
A delicate, sweet flavor. Served with the long, slender, leg clusters attached to half of the body. Get Crackin’!
We hope to see you at Shells soon!
Until next time readers, happy spring and keep smiling.
