Now that Easter has passed, many people here in Brandon, FL will find themselves in the midst of a large quantity of leftovers from dinner on Sunday. With that being said, dental implant providers Drs. Richard and Brenton Assing have decided to share with you a few recipes that are all made using leftovers from Easter dinner. We hate seeing food go to waste, so we thought we would list a couple of our favorite recipes for leftover easter food here in an article for you to enjoy as much as our families do.
The best part about these recipes is the fact that many of them contain elements that are good for your oral health in one way or another. So let’s be both frugal and smile friendly as we take a closer look at these creative concoctions.
One thing almost everyone does with their families on Easter is dye eggs. These eggs are usually hard boiled first and come Monday, many households have an overabundance of colorful, hardboiled eggs in their refrigerators.
Eggs are one of the most versatile foods out there. They are packed with nutrients that can give you the fuel to stay energized throughout your day. Instead of letting these healthy snacks go to waste, why not make something out of them. After we get tired of eating bard boiled eggs in our houses we make egg salad! Here is our favorite recipe for egg salad that has been passed down though some of our families.
In a large bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, onion, salt and pepper. Stir in eggs and celery. Cover and refrigerate. When ready to serve, spoon portions onto whole wheat bread and enjoy!
This classic salad is a healthy and hearty meal all on its own. It can be eaten for a fresh spring lunch or a light dinner that won’t sent you to bed feeling weighed down by a heavy meal. Here’s one of our favorite recipes.
We hope one of these recipes becomes as much a staple in your house as they both are in ours.
Until next time readers, keep smiling.
