Hello and welcome to the brand new dental implants blog of Brandon Complete Dental Care! For a long time now, we have debated amongst each other what the best way of letting our Brandon, FL area patients know about dental implants might be. After much discussion, we determined that speaking directly to you through this blog provided the best opportunity. So, here we are! To start things off, Dr. Richard Assing and Dr. Brenton Assing are blogging today to talk about some of the treatments we can provide for our patients using dental implants. With this information, we believe that our patients will have a better idea of which treatment might be able to provide the best replacement teeth for their needs.
Whether you are suffering from a missing tooth or even a full arch of missing teeth, we will be able to use dental implants to revitalize your smile. Some of the treatments we perform using dental implants include:
When a patient is only suffering from a single missing tooth, we will restore that tooth with its own implant fixture topped with a porcelain crown. During the implant procedure, a single implant fixture is placed in the former location of the missing tooth root. As it heals, osseointegration works to integrate your implant fixture into your oral anatomy, convincing your body that it is no different from one of your natural tooth roots. Once the implant fixture has healed, you will return to our practice to have an abutment attached to the implant fixture, followed by your porcelain crown.
When a patient is suffering from multiple missing teeth, they may still choose to have each tooth restored with its own implant fixture and porcelain crown. However, a patient who is suffering from multiple missing teeth that border each other may choose to use an implant supported dental bridge. For this procedure, at least two implant fixtures are placed in your jawbone. Once healed, an abutment is attached to each implant fixture, and then the dental bridge is connected to both fixtures.
When a patient comes to us who is suffering from a full arch of missing teeth, it can still be possible to restore each and every missing tooth with its own implant fixture and dental crown. However, restoring this many teeth this way can be very expensive. Instead, the patient may want to move forward with an implant supported overdenture instead. For this procedure, four to six implant fixtures are placed along the arch. Once healed and osseointegrated, an abutment will be attached to each implant fixture, followed by having the overdenture connected at all points.
As you can see, it doesn’t matter how many missing teeth you may be suffering from; we will be able to restore your smile using dental implants. If you would like to find out whether or not you might be a good candidate for treatment with dental implants, please contact our office and schedule a no-obligation consultation with Dr. Richard Assing and Dr. Brenton Assing today. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
